2-14-12 Why do I do this?

Why do I perscribe to cultivation?  One time I read that Jesus said it is possible to live in the world with such peace that nothing will disbrub your peace.  Well, that just made sense to me and I had to make that happen for me.  I'm a long way from complete peace, but I have made progress and I more peaceful more of the time.

I have been extremely busy at work this last week covering for a couple of people and I allowed myself to generate stress over it.  It was a good test for me, but I knew all the while I was stressing that I did not have to react in that manner. I could have just gone with the flow and made the whole experience much nicer for myself and my co-workers. I was not a good example of cultivating happiness for myself.  I will do it better next time.

This world is a great place and also dangerous and scary place with the natural disasters, thieves, and all sorts of ciminals walking around. There is war and rumors of war, our government is not providing and proctecting us they way they could.  Lack of money, lack of good health, and diseases is enough to keep us all scared. All that I have just listed is why I cultivate peace and happiness inside of me. Within my true nature is the answer to all the fear in this world.  That is what is meant by living in this world, but not being of this world.  Not only is that a true statement for me but all of us it have within us the realm of possibility to live unafraid with the faith we are being provided for and protected by the force that runs the universe.

I have checked many fears off of my original list when I was not aware that I had the power to control what I feared.  I really works for me and for may others that I associate with. There are also many books to look to for advise and answers.

The five great sages: Buddha, Mohammad, Confucius, Lao Tse and in a class all his own, Jesus Christ have left behind many instructions on how to live our lives.  With the internet it is very easy to access many of the great books of instruction.

Thanks

1-27-12 IT’S JUST SO HUMAN

It’s just so human:

To think that this world is all there is

To eat drink and be merry cause when you die, that’s the end

To have low self esteem

To believe you are powerless to change yourself and the world

To be run around by your ego

To fear God

To live in any fear

To not be in control of your desires and emotions

To believe your body controls your health and aging

To hate everything that is different

To hate what you don’t understand

To believe that judging is productive and right

To fall prey and to be a victim

To not know you are worthy and full of promise

To believe there is no way out of your misery

This list could go on and on, but I am sure you get the gist of it. The answer to every problem is right behind it. The answer has already been given.

Cause and effect can be corrected to work for you.

The book stores are full of books written by people who have had life after death experiences and what their experience was.  Check it out.  Don't completely disregard the mystical.

Beauty 1-17-12

I was watching the Martha Stewart show this morning.  The show was on beauty and there was talk about how beauty comes from within, but only in reference to what we eat.  I wish there would be more talk about changing how beautiful we can be from within to changing how we think and what our perception of ourselves and the world around us.  To think productively, to let the past go, to stop being afraid of our future (although the world right now seems percarious); mainly to self-reflect and let that be the beginning of making real change from within.  True beauty does comes from within, but it is so much more that what we eat or what multivitimins we take, or the exercise we get.

There is a very rich industry on beauty products and advise.  There is also a lot of resources to help you find the way to within yourself. Trust me; when you start to go within, you may not like what you find, but go deeper to not only find your true beauty but the avenue to release it.

1-14-11 More on mindfullness

We spend hours worrying about our future, blaming ourselves and others for what we've done or not done to ourselves or what we blame others for what they did to us in the past and completely missing the present moment - the moment in which we actually have power to make real change in our lives.

Each minute we miss in our appointment with life is a missed opportunity to engage in life for the better and to experience true happiness.

To be mindfull is to be completely aware of all that is going on within ourselves and all that is happening around us, from moment to moment, without judgment or preconceived notions.

OPINIONS 1-5-12

I was listening to talk radio this morning on my drive to work which I had to shut off because it was sounding like a whole lot of useless noise.

This post is for me, because I have a lot of opinions and I always have had. I’m thinking my opinions are a manifestation of my ego. I am not operating from my true nature when I’m caught up in expressing an opinion or judgment. I have to choose which mind I want to go with; my human mind or my true mind. Since true happiness and my true self is only in my true/eternal mind, there is no contest. I choose my true/eternal mind.

I ask myself what was ever changed or accomplished because I had an opinion. I may have validated myself or thought I am impressing someone. The only person I can actually impress is me. There is no way I could ever know what it would take to impress anyone else.

I fully believe any change is going to happen by aligning myself with the true universe. Now, I must act on that belief. With each opinion my intent will be to let it go and to send an internal blessing in place of my opinion.

I’ll get back to you on my progress. The world operates on all sorts of opinions. I have never heard any two people agree that one persons opinion is a better opinion. There is no agreement in this arena. Please correct me if I am wrong.

MINDFULLNESS 12-31-11

HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I’ve been consciously observing my thoughts lately. Wow! I really get some doozies.

These are horrific thoughts regarding actions I would NEVER do, words I would NEVER SAY. I’m aware they are coming from my human mind, but WHY? Does this happen to you?

I’ve been taught that all thought produces form on some level. I certainly do not want these crazy thoughts to produce any form on any level.

I don’t want to give much attention to these random weird thoughts, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

This time of year I always take a look at my life; the people I’ve met, the people I’ve loved, the ways I’ve changed not only in my thinking but in what I like to do now versus what I’ve liked to do in my past both recent past and distant past. I go over what I would like to accomplish in both the choices I make for myself and projects I’ve been thinking about doing, books I would like to read, books I would like to write, hobbies I would like to expand on and new ones I would like to try. Life is never boring. There’s just too much to do. Just letting my day happen without me interfering is a wondrous playground.

I feel like I’ve been many different people all in one lifetime. It’s been a good ride.

CLUTTERED BUSY MIND 12-29-11

With the holidays over except for New Years, I find my mind still all busy on plans, shopping, eating. On my drive to work this morning I sincerely tried to self reflect and gain some inspirational insight. This inspiration did not come. In stead, I found my mind so busy and caught up in my worldly existence I was devoid of inspiration.

This is the way of the world and is an example of why very few people ever stop to ask if this is all there is. We all have an eternal true nature reaching out to be acknowledged. The attachments and desires of this world, and our goals and plans block who we really are.

Hoopla and festivities will never sustain any lasting happiness. The nature of true happiness has absolutely nothing to do with things or even other people. I’ve been feeling tired and distracted. I’ve decided to let these feelings be the cause to clear my mind and to stop and smell the roses (so to speak).

EXAMPLE OF IGNORANCE (ignorance in this sense is not education it is not knowing who you really are).

There is this woman at work who is always in everybody’s business. She interrupts every conversation, she finds fault with everything, and always points out what is wrong with all of her coworkers and customers. She was in my cubicle looking at a daffodil plant I brought to work. She stuck her finger in the dirt and told me what I needed to do. I really feel sorry for people like that. Do you know someone like that? Not only, do they bother the people around them, but it must be really hard to have to control everything and everybody around you. If she ever begins to let go and concentrate within herself, there will be a release of stress and relief of a great magnitude.
