Question regarding your identity 3-28-12

How do you identify and qualify yourself?  Big, strong, aggresive, petite, cute, sexy, intelligent, PHD, MS, BA, singer, songwriter, athlete, actor, bad-ass, beautiful, successful, mother, teacher, pilot, politician, general, etc. You see where I'm going with this. We all identify ourselves and qualify ourselves according to how well we do with our various labels. Have you ever considered looking at yourself as nothing and knowing nothing?  I'm going to consider it.  I am curious where my thinking and my actions will go by doing so.  I'll keep you posted.

Our labels are of this world. We are not.

Story about letting your life happen instead of always planning.

This story is about afarmer whose horse broke out of its corral and ran off.  When the farmer’s neighbors heard that his horse had run off, they cajoled, “how sad it was that his only horse ran off.”  The farmer just replied with, “Maybe.” The next morning the farmer’s horse returned with a herd of horses following him. Now the farmer had many horses in his corral.  His neighbors upon hearing the news exclaimed how wonderful for him that his horse brought back so many other horses.  The farmer again responded with, “maybe.”  The farmer’s son breaking one of the new horses was thrown and broke his leg.  His neighbors were quick to feel sorry for his son breaking his leg.  The farmer’s answer was, “Maybe.”  The next day the army was riding through the villages taking all the young men with them to join their army.  They did not take the farmer’s son because his leg was broken.  “How, wonderful that your son was not taken,” the neighbors exclaimed.  Again, the farmers’ reply was the same, “Maybe.”

3-07-12 Awareness

As you get better at looking within and taking responsibility for your own process for true happiness, you will begin to see the fruits of your willingness to correct your perception. It is imperative you pay attention to every moment of your day. There are unseen forces working for your happiness and you are being presented with lessons and answers everywhere you are. This will forever connect you to the universe around you and provide you with understandings the people in your life who are not undertaking this same process will not gain.

In order to take full advantage of this help, I find it is helpful to take moments away from the noise of the world. Turn off the radio or music while driving once in a while.  Sit outside on your proch or desk without taking your Ipod or smart phone with you.  Allow quite time just between you and those forces that are helping you.

When you sense the help and protection, you will feel happiness and love that cannot come from any other source.  This love will sustain you and bouy you up. Also, your appreciation for the sights and sounds you encounter will broaden your world.

There is peace in the wind.

2-14-12 Why do I do this?

Why do I perscribe to cultivation?  One time I read that Jesus said it is possible to live in the world with such peace that nothing will disbrub your peace.  Well, that just made sense to me and I had to make that happen for me.  I'm a long way from complete peace, but I have made progress and I more peaceful more of the time.

I have been extremely busy at work this last week covering for a couple of people and I allowed myself to generate stress over it.  It was a good test for me, but I knew all the while I was stressing that I did not have to react in that manner. I could have just gone with the flow and made the whole experience much nicer for myself and my co-workers. I was not a good example of cultivating happiness for myself.  I will do it better next time.

This world is a great place and also dangerous and scary place with the natural disasters, thieves, and all sorts of ciminals walking around. There is war and rumors of war, our government is not providing and proctecting us they way they could.  Lack of money, lack of good health, and diseases is enough to keep us all scared. All that I have just listed is why I cultivate peace and happiness inside of me. Within my true nature is the answer to all the fear in this world.  That is what is meant by living in this world, but not being of this world.  Not only is that a true statement for me but all of us it have within us the realm of possibility to live unafraid with the faith we are being provided for and protected by the force that runs the universe.

I have checked many fears off of my original list when I was not aware that I had the power to control what I feared.  I really works for me and for may others that I associate with. There are also many books to look to for advise and answers.

The five great sages: Buddha, Mohammad, Confucius, Lao Tse and in a class all his own, Jesus Christ have left behind many instructions on how to live our lives.  With the internet it is very easy to access many of the great books of instruction.

Thanks

1-27-12 IT’S JUST SO HUMAN

It’s just so human:

To think that this world is all there is

To eat drink and be merry cause when you die, that’s the end

To have low self esteem

To believe you are powerless to change yourself and the world

To be run around by your ego

To fear God

To live in any fear

To not be in control of your desires and emotions

To believe your body controls your health and aging

To hate everything that is different

To hate what you don’t understand

To believe that judging is productive and right

To fall prey and to be a victim

To not know you are worthy and full of promise

To believe there is no way out of your misery

This list could go on and on, but I am sure you get the gist of it. The answer to every problem is right behind it. The answer has already been given.

Cause and effect can be corrected to work for you.

The book stores are full of books written by people who have had life after death experiences and what their experience was.  Check it out.  Don't completely disregard the mystical.

Beauty 1-17-12

I was watching the Martha Stewart show this morning.  The show was on beauty and there was talk about how beauty comes from within, but only in reference to what we eat.  I wish there would be more talk about changing how beautiful we can be from within to changing how we think and what our perception of ourselves and the world around us.  To think productively, to let the past go, to stop being afraid of our future (although the world right now seems percarious); mainly to self-reflect and let that be the beginning of making real change from within.  True beauty does comes from within, but it is so much more that what we eat or what multivitimins we take, or the exercise we get.

There is a very rich industry on beauty products and advise.  There is also a lot of resources to help you find the way to within yourself. Trust me; when you start to go within, you may not like what you find, but go deeper to not only find your true beauty but the avenue to release it.

1-14-11 More on mindfullness

We spend hours worrying about our future, blaming ourselves and others for what we've done or not done to ourselves or what we blame others for what they did to us in the past and completely missing the present moment - the moment in which we actually have power to make real change in our lives.

Each minute we miss in our appointment with life is a missed opportunity to engage in life for the better and to experience true happiness.

To be mindfull is to be completely aware of all that is going on within ourselves and all that is happening around us, from moment to moment, without judgment or preconceived notions.
